Responsibilities:
As a 911 Dispatcher / Communications Officer at the Fond du Lac County Emergency Communications Center, you will receive and process both emergency and non-emergency calls for Police, Fire, and Emergency Medical Services (EMS). This fast-paced position will require you to determine the appropriate call types and course of action based on the nature of the calls. You will receive emergency calls through 911, while you simultaneously enter information into the computer, and operate public safety dispatching equipment for multiple jurisdictions and agencies. Position requires constant contact with the public in stressful situations that require the ability to remain calm, think clearly, use good judgment, and have clear, understandable speaking skills. Good judgment and the ability to multitask are a must.
